How the Tipping Farm Trailer, Single Axle works
This tipping farm trailer is a tractor-towed, unpowered vehicle that carries harvested crops, implements, dirt, gravel, stones and similar loads. A hydraulic ram tips the body so the load slides out quickly, which saves hard shovelling at the end of every trip.
It comes in three sizes: 4–5 ton (vessel 10 × 6.5 × 2 ft), 5–8 ton (11 × 6.5 × 2 ft) and 8–10 ton (12 × 7 × 2.5 ft). The floor is 10-gauge mild-steel sheet and the walls 12-gauge, with 5–6 in axles, 8.25–20 tyres, a double-acting ram and a tipping angle of 55 degrees.
Pick the model by load: 4–5 ton, 5–8 ton or 8–10 ton. Tip only on level ground with the tractor in line with the trailer, raise the body slowly, and keep people clear. The double-acting ram and 55-degree tipping angle empty the body quickly.
