About this product
How the Ridger works
A ridger builds the raised ridges that crops such as sugarcane, potatoes, chillies and tobacco grow on. It also divides a field into furrows so that irrigation water can flow along them.
It is 1,778 mm wide and 1,050 mm deep, with 550 mm clearance under the frame, and weighs about 145 kg. The maximum row spacing is 711 mm and it decreases in steps of 25 mm. It suits tractors of 45–85 HP and above.
Choose the number of furrows to suit the tractor: the ridger is listed for 45–85 HP, and a wide spacing of up to 711 mm reduces in 25 mm steps for closer crops. Ridge when the soil is moist, not wet, and match the spacing to your crop and your irrigation plan.
Before you buy the Ridger
Select the number of furrows by your tractor's power and the width of your rows. Because the spacing can be adjusted, one ridger can serve several crops, from potatoes to maize. Check the clearance under the frame if you work in crops that have already started to grow.

Questions
Questions about the Ridger
Pick the number your tractor can pull comfortably in your soil. More furrows cover ground faster, but they need more power and a wider turning space at the headland.
