About this product
How the Bench Drilling Machine works
Drilling with a hand drill depends on a steady hand. A drilling machine takes the human error out: the bit moves straight down a column, the work is clamped to the table, and the depth is set by a stop, so the tenth hole is exactly like the first.
The machine has a heavy cast iron base and column in green, with a motor at the top connected through a belt drive to the spindle and chuck. A feed handle at the side lowers the spindle, and a flat table with T-slots holds the vice or workpiece and can be raised, lowered and swung to suit the job.
Bench drills are the heart of any metal or wood workshop: garages, fabricators, agricultural repair shops, schools and training centres. Select the speed by moving the belt on the pulleys, clamp the work, and always wear eye protection. We confirm the drilling capacity, power and voltage before shipping.
Before you buy the Bench Drilling Machine
A drill press holds the bit square to the work, which gives straight, repeatable holes that a hand drill cannot match. It is a core tool for any workshop. Choose one with a sturdy cast iron frame and clamp your work before drilling.
