About this product
How the Measuring Wheel works
Long tapes are fiddly to run out over hundreds of metres, especially when you are alone. A measuring wheel does the same job at walking speed: it rolls along the ground, a gear counts the turns, and the display shows the distance directly.
The wheel is yellow with a black housing for the counter, and mounted on a telescopic handle that adjusts to your height and folds down for carrying. A stand keeps it upright when parked, and a brake or reset button zeroes the counter before each run.
Surveyors, builders, road crews, fencing contractors, landscapers and farmers use measuring wheels to estimate lengths of pipelines, fences, paths, boundaries and fields. Accuracy depends on the surface and the wheel diameter; we confirm the specification and counter range in writing.
Before you buy the Measuring Wheel
A measuring wheel is much quicker than a tape for long distances such as fences, roads, boundaries and building plots. Walk at a steady pace, keep the wheel on the ground and reset the counter before each measurement.
