About this product
How the Walk-Behind Fertiliser Spreader works
Granular fertiliser needs to go on evenly. Too thick and plants burn; too thin and they starve. A walk-behind broadcast spreader gives a consistent rate across the swath, so the result is a uniform green instead of stripes.
The hopper at the top holds the material and feeds it through an adjustable opening onto a spinning plate. A lever on the handle opens and closes the flow, so you can start, stop and turn at the end of each pass without leaving a heap.
Two wheels drive the plate as you walk, so the spread keeps pace with your speed. It handles fertiliser, grass seed, ice-melt salt and similar free-flowing granules, and is a useful tool for lawns, pasture, nurseries and small fields.
Before you buy the Walk-Behind Fertiliser Spreader
A walk-behind spreader is the simplest way to apply granular fertiliser, seed or lime over lawns and small fields. Set the opening to suit the material, walk at a steady pace and overlap passes slightly. Calibrate with a small test area first.
