How the Rice Reaper works
The rice reaper cuts standing rice and carries it smoothly to the ground in an orderly row. A continuous belt conveyor moves the crop, an overhead reel guides the stalks into the cutter, interchangeable cutting bars keep the blade sharp, and a crop separator divides the standing grain from the cut.
It is fully tractor-mounted and driven by the PTO, and it works with tractors from 35 to 85 HP and above. The 230 cm cutting width carries 29 high-carbon steel knives, seven 28 cm pinion wheels spaced 30 cm apart, and two conveyor chains with 37 lugs each, all on a mild-steel frame.
The reaper is mounted on the tractor and driven from underneath through the PTO, so check that your tractor is between 35 and 85 HP and has a working PTO. Cut when the grain is ripe and the straw is dry, and keep the 29 knives sharp: dull knives tear the stems instead of cutting them cleanly.
Before you buy the Rice Reaper
A tractor-mounted reaper makes sense for farmers who want to cut a large rice area quickly without hiring a combine. With a 230 cm cutting width, it needs a tractor in the range given. Make sure the fields are firm enough for the tractor and the crop reasonably upright.
