About this product
How the Wheat Reaper works
The wheat reaper is the implement for harvesting wheat, barley, oats and similar cereal crops. A cutter bar slices the stalks, an overhead reel feeds them in, and a belt conveyor carries them aside so the cut crop lies on the ground, ready for gathering and drying.
It mounts fully on the tractor, takes its drive from underneath through the PTO, and suits tractors from 35 to 85 HP and more. The frame is mild steel, the cutter carries 29 knives of high-carbon steel, and the working width is 230 cm. Two conveyor chains with 37 lugs each keep the crop moving.
Time the cut for when the wheat is ripe but not shattering, and adjust the overhead reel so it sweeps the stalks into the cutter without throwing grain. After cutting, leave the swaths to dry in the sun before collecting. A tractor from 35 to 85 HP is enough.
Before you buy the Wheat Reaper
This reaper is a good choice if you want to harvest wheat without investing in a full combine. It cuts a 230 cm swath and lays the crop neatly. Think about your threshing arrangements as well, and check the tractor requirements before you order.

Questions
Questions about the Wheat Reaper
The mechanism is similar, but a wheat reaper is set up for standing wheat on dry ground, while the rice version is built to handle damp, softer paddy fields.
