About this product
How the Impact Rotary Sprinkler works
The impact sprinkler is one of the most used irrigation tools in the world because it is simple and reliable. A jet of water hits a spring-loaded arm, which swings out and back, nudging the nozzle a few degrees around with every tick.
The body is orange-and-black plastic with a threaded base that screws onto a riser or a stake. The nozzle throws water in a long arc, and the circle it covers is much larger than a fixed spray. Pressure and nozzle size set the throw distance and the droplet size.
Impact sprinklers are used on lawns, vegetable plots, orchards and field crops, often in a grid so that the circles overlap. Because the parts are few and plain, they are easy to clean and can be repaired in the field. We supply them in cartons for dealers and irrigation contractors.
Before you buy the Impact Rotary Sprinkler
Impact sprinklers cover large circles and cope with variable water quality better than many fine-nozzle types. They suit lawns, pastures and field crops. Space them so that the circles overlap, and use a filter if your source is not clean.
