How the Multi-Crop Planter with Ridger works
This planter does three jobs at the same time: it forms raised beds, drops the seed and applies fertiliser. It can sow wheat, maize, cotton, sunflower, sorghum and other crops, so one machine covers a wide range of farm work.
It forms two raised beds with three furrows and plants four rows for maize or cotton, or eight rows for wheat. Pick-and-drop wheel metering and a placer wheel control seed spacing and depth, and the bed size can be adjusted by hand. A heavy-duty steel frame is driven by a ground wheel and hitches to a Category II three-point linkage for tractors of 50–85 HP and more.
Choose the right set-up for the crop: four rows for maize or cotton, eight rows for wheat. Because the machine forms the beds and furrows as it sows, start on a levelled field and keep the tractor wheels in the same tracks every pass so the beds stay even. It suits tractors of 50–85 HP and more.
