About this product
How the Corded Electric Tiller works
Digging a bed by hand is hard work, but a full-size power tiller is overkill for a flowerbed or a few vegetable rows. An electric tiller fills the gap: light enough to carry, easy to start, and strong enough to break up garden soil.
A motor in the grey housing drives four steel tines at the bottom through a gear. They turn in the soil and chop it fine, mixing in compost or lime. A lime-green loop handle with a safety switch lets you steer and control it with both hands.
Running from the mains through a cable, it starts instantly, produces no fumes and is far quieter than a petrol machine. It is a good fit for allotments, villa gardens, greenhouses and nurseries within reach of a power point and an extension lead.
Before you buy the Corded Electric Tiller
An electric tiller is a quiet, clean way to prepare small beds and vegetable plots. It suits gardeners who have a mains socket nearby and do not want to deal with fuel. For larger plots or ground far from power, a petrol or diesel tiller is the better choice.
