How the Concrete Needle Vibrator works
Fresh concrete traps air bubbles as it is poured. If they are left in, they weaken the structure and leave honeycombs on the surface. A needle vibrator removes the air by vibrating the mix at high frequency and settling it into every corner of the formwork.
A petrol engine in a yellow frame drives a long, flexible black shaft, at the end of which is the golden metal head, or needle. You immerse the head in the concrete and withdraw it slowly. Because the engine is petrol, it is independent of mains power, so it suits remote sites.
Needle vibrators are used for columns, beams, walls and foundations, where the mix is deep and full of reinforcement. We supply them with different head diameters and shaft lengths, confirmed in writing, and spare heads and shafts for contractors who use them daily.
