How the Concrete Shutter Vibrator works
Some concrete work cannot take a needle inside: thin precast panels, pipes, kerbs, slabs made in steel moulds. A shutter vibrator solves the problem from outside, by shaking the mould itself, so the concrete inside settles and the air rises.
The unit is an electric motor with unbalanced weights in a cast housing, painted orange. It has four mounting feet for bolting to the formwork and a cable entry for the power lead. When it runs, the unbalanced weights spin and create strong vibration that is transmitted into the mould.
It is used in precast plants and block yards, and for tall wall forms. The strength of vibration depends on the model, so we ask for the size and weight of your mould and confirm the right motor power and speed before supplying.
Before you buy the Concrete Shutter Vibrator
When forms are rigid and the concrete is thin, an external vibrator that bolts on to the shutter gives an even finish without needles inside the pour. It is common in precast work and for walls and columns. Make sure the formwork is strong enough to carry the vibration.
